ÉLAN FLOWERS: A DOWNTOWN NEW YORK STORY
Élan Flowers has been part of Downtown New York since 1983.
From our Tribeca home at 1 Worth Street, we create flowers for both the everyday and the extraordinary — a birthday sent across town, weekly flowers for a home or office, weddings, hotel guest arrivals, brand dinners, or a celebration where florals fill an entire room.
The word élan means energy, style, and panache. For us, it is more than a name. It is a standard.
Élan Flowers helps clients express care, connection, and emotion through thoughtfully designed flowers. Our work begins with understanding the client, the setting, and what the flowers should communicate. That is why design and service have always been inseparable at Élan. Color, proportion, texture, movement, scale, and season all matter. Just as important is the experience of the person ordering the flowers — and the person receiving them.
Classic in sensibility. Modern in execution. Unmistakably Élan.
The Next Chapter of Élan
Élan Flowers was already a New York business with more than three decades of history when Patrick and Christine Hall acquired the studio in 2015. At the time, Élan had three employees and operated from approximately 700 square feet. Today, the company has grown to a team of more than twenty and a nearly 7,000- square-foot Tribeca home at 1 Worth Street.
Growth, however, was never simply about becoming larger. The goal has been to preserve what made Élan special while giving the business the strength, capacity,
and permanence to continue serving New York for years to come. That means maintaining a storefront and production studio in Manhattan, employing and developing a talented team, and investing in design, service, and relationships rather than becoming anonymous or transactional. And it means remaining recognizably Élan as the company grows.
Our mission is to bring beauty, style, and meaning to life through exquisite floral design, gracious service, and genuine kindness.

What Makes Élan Different: Flowers are inherently seasonal.
Rather than treating an arrangement like a fixed recipe, Élan’s Signature Collection is built around curated color palettes, consistent proportions, and a recognizable design language that can move naturally through the seasons. Each arrangement in Élan’s Signature Collection is designed stem by stem, with flowers individually placed into our signature spiral. The individual varieties may change depending on season and market availability, but the intended palette, texture, proportion, and character remain consistent. For Élan, the client is not simply purchasing a list of flower varieties. They are trusting the studio’s design expertise. That same philosophy extends from a single arrangement to a large-scale event.
At a private dinner, flowers may create intimacy without interrupting conversation.
At a brand event, they may reinforce a visual identity and create the moment guests will photograph.
At a hotel, flowers should feel naturally at home in the architecture rather than applied as decoration.
At a wedding, the floral should belong to the couple, the season, the room, and the atmosphere they want to create. The scale changes. The standard does not.
Flowers at Work
Some of Élan’s most important relationships are not built around a single occasion. They happen every week. Élan provides recurring floral service for hotels, restaurants, offices, residential buildings, businesses, and private homes. The process begins by understanding the space. What does the architecture call
for? How do people move through it? Where will flowers make a visual impact? Should the arrangement announce itself or simply make the room feel complete? For offices and corporate clients, flowers are also part of hospitality — welcoming employees, clients, and guests into an environment that feels considered and cared for.
That is why Élan sees recurring floral work as more than decoration. It is part of how a business presents itself.

Events and New York Hospitality
New York events move quickly. A board dinner may require a handful of beautifully considered arrangements. A product launch may require a large installation designed to be photographed. A wedding may begin with personal flowers and expand into ceremony, cocktails, dinner, and an entire environment.
Élan works across that range. The studio’s event work includes corporate dinners, galas, weddings, brand activations, launches, celebrations, press events, and hospitality floral throughout New York City.
For larger projects, the process becomes increasingly collaborative: understanding the venue, the guest experience, the client’s priorities, and where the floral investment will have the greatest visual effect.
The goal is not simply to fill every surface with flowers. It is to know where flowers matter most.
Before owning Élan Flowers, Patrick spent ten years in the corporate events and destination-management industry as a Visual Design Director. That experience still informs the way Élan approaches event work today.
Flowers are often one of the final pieces to come together. Élan’s role is to make the floral beautiful — and to make the floral part easy.
The People Behind Élan
A flower shop is made of flowers. A business is made of people. Patrick and Christine Hall have grown Élan from a team of three to more than twenty, but they still think of the company as a small business in the most meaningful sense of the phrase. People know one another. Clients become familiar. Relationships matter. And kindness is expected. Élan’s culture can be expressed in two words:
BE KIND.
To ourselves.
To one another.
To our clients.
For Patrick, genuine kindness is not simply an internal workplace value. It was part of why he wanted to own and build a company in the first place.
Talent matters. Precision matters. But so does how people treat one another while doing the work.
That belief extends outward to the client. Gracious service means making someone feel heard, understood, and well cared for — whether they are purchasing one arrangement or trusting Élan with an important event.
Looking Forward
Élan’s vision is:
To preserve and grow Élan Flowers as a longstanding Downtown New York florist,
known for exquisite design and gracious service.
For Patrick and Christine, that means growing without losing the qualities that made the business worth preserving in the first place.
Beautiful flowers. Thoughtful design. Gracious service. Genuine relationships. And a team that takes pride in doing the work extraordinarily well.
